Jordon Wins Prestigious Young Leader Award

We’re thrilled to share the news that our brilliant Operations Director has picked up an award! This month, Jordon won the Young Leader Award at The Business Desk’s Leadership Awards 2025 for the West Midlands.

Jordon is our Operations Director. He has an overarching view of the entire business to ensure each department is running as productively as possible. He liaises with each department head on strategy, processes and goals, making sure the business is unified and working effectively.

Jordon joined Start Tech in 2017 with very little IT experience. 4 years on he was already a project manager leading a team, and now he’s part of our senior management team.

He was one of 19 winners crowned in front of the West Midlands business community at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham city centre last week.

The awards are independently judged by business leaders and the panel of judges consisted of Andy Begley, CEO of Shropshire Council, Henrietta Brealey, CEO of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Andrew Lovett, CEO of the Black Country Living Museum and Abbie Vlahakis, CEO of Millenium Point.

TheBusinessDesk.com’s West Midlands editor Anna Cooper, who chaired the panel, said: “The standard of this year’s nominations was higher than ever, displaying the depth and breadth of the leadership talent in the West Midlands.”

Our managing director, Ian Groves, said, “Anyone who knows Jordon will know just how exceptionally talented he is. What you probably won’t know is just how well-respected he is by everyone on the team at Start Tech.

“He leads by example every single day, and he has done ever since he joined us as an apprentice 7 years ago!”

He is an exciting new talent in the tech sector and we’re proud to have him lead our team.

From everyone at Start Tech – congratulations Jordon!
