There are just a few more days left to apply for the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards, launched by Carl Jones in association with Shropshire Business Live TV.
Start Tech are proud to be involved. We’re sponsoring the ‘Book of the Night’ at the awards night.
The awards will celebrate the best and brightest young and mature learners and those organisations who are finding new ways to drive ambition and education through their apprenticeship programmes.
There are multiple categories to enter as an apprentice, from construction to hospitality, and as a company, you can put yourself forward for one of the ‘Apprentice Employer of the Year’ categories.
The winners will be announced at a glittering presentation evening in October.
The awards are free to enter. To qualify for an individual award, candidates must be either be a current apprentice or have completed an apprenticeship within the past two years with a company based in either the Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin local authority areas.
To qualify for a company award, businesses must have at least one operational base in either Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin, and employ current or past apprentices.
Here at Start Tech, we’re passionate about creating pathways into IT through apprenticeships. In fact, 7 of our team members started out as apprentices, which includes 2 of our management team. We believe it is a really important tool to develop skills and confidence.
When an apprentice joins our team, they’re treated as a respected team member, not a student. They are here to learn and do a job – it’s important that we empower them to do those things.
Well done to Carl and his team for shining a light on apprenticeships in our region.
