James Walton becomes a Level 3 Unified Communications Technician
Now we’re super pleased to announce that James has been graded ‘Pass’.
What skills/knowledge James has developed as part of his apprenticeship:
- Establish and maintain basic communication systems
- Use a range of remote and physical tools and equipment
- Install basic communication hardware and software
- Deal with routine service requests from internal and external sources.
When I left school, I knew I wanted to pursue IT and further develop my knowledge in the different industry areas. In school, it was very much one curriculum, but I knew there was the option to to learn more about the subject if I continued into higher education. I was particularly interested in the networking side of IT.
When I joined Start Tech, I felt I could expand my IT knowledge in a practical environment. Having been with the company for over 10 months, I feel more confident in my ability. I am using the knowledge I have developed over the past few years in my working day.
